We all know that commuting is not fun in the Philippines, Commute.ph addresses this and make a community of people who are willing to contribute and share information to keep us from getting lost.
Commute.ph is basically a commuting guide for Filipinos. It provides detailed directions that includes step by step route to take, what to ride, and how much. There is still no good solution about the commuting problems here in the Philippines, only few blogs provide almost the same service as Commute.ph.
What’s unique about Commute.ph is that it’s for commuters by the commuters. The directions provided by it is crowd sourced and driven by the community. Meaning, the directions are added by commuters or the people who knew how to commute. People can also like, dislike or comment on specific routes to provide additional information to others. It is also integrated to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter so that people can ask their friends if the direction they’re searching is still not in Commute.ph.
As of now, Commute.ph is still gathering initial data. And even though at this point, there are people who are adding directions through our nice and fun user interface. Commute.ph is still a web based application, but in the future, a mobile application will be developed. Distance, duration of travel, maps, geolocation, and directions from SMS will be added too.
